SmartCheck: Benchmarking current security status

SmartCheck Audits provide benchmarking of current state strengths and weaknesses of the infrastructure, over-all security and compliance to policies. The audit process has three phases; discovery, analysis and report/recommendations. There are two specific categories of deliverables, one assesses network and security vulnerabilities and performance issues and the other assesses human behavior as it relates to acceptable use of IT assets.

SmartCheck Deliverables

Security Policies:
There are specific policies that are critical for your business to have in place. We will do a gap analysis of where you need to complete your policy package.
Network Analysis and Diagram:
Provides a clear conceptual diagram of your network that will be further mapped in the Asset Discovery.
Asset Discovery:
Detailed inventory discovery and overall diagram of your infrastructure assets including Domain Name Registrations.
On-Site Environmental Conditions & Controls Review:
Verifies the quality of your physical plant design and maintenance including power backup, cooling, wiring and cabling etc.
IT Management Policy, Process, and Procedure Report:
compares the state of your IT infrastructure with current best practice. Includes such things as architecture design, backup procedures, network management design, virus & spam handling procedures, etc.
External Security Scan:
Determines what ports are opened to the outside world and whether they are configured to deter unauthorized use.
Patch/Service Pack Analysis:
Determines whether your operating systems are current with software updates for bugs or security vulnerabilities.
Internal Security Scan:
Finds Intranet vulnerabilities such as open drive shares, vulnerable services, password issues and unauthorized backdoors that compromise the security of company information assets.
Firewall Review:
Performs an architecture analysis, configuration review and log review (where accessible).
Network and System Capacity & Performance Review:
Diagnoses the current stress on your network equipment and servers. Our staff then identifies corrective action that can be taken to boost the performance and reliability of your entire IT infrastructure.
Fault Analysis:
Details the alarms generated by your network devices. Our technical staff uses this to determine the general health of your network.
Business Continuity Analysis:
Addresses how vulnerable your business is to costly data loss or unavailability events.
Compliance Analysis:
Measures the impact of regulatory requirements on your network.
Summary General Health and Recommendations Report:
Our technical staff will review the data that is collected and develop a final presentation document that includes:
  • A General Health Assessment that includes the items listed above
  • A Recommendations Report that gives suggested corrective actions that should be considered to improve your network reliability, performance and security
